Cute Bookcase : KidKraft Nantucket 2-shelf Bookcase

Have had this bookshelf for almost two years now. It was easy to assemble and has held up very well. Searched a lot of places and this one had the best measurements for our room and storing those large board books. Plus, can use it as a nightstand. Not sure what's out there these days, but would highly recommend this one. I want to get another for my 2nd son now.

The Best Bookcase : Cherry Finish 6 Shelf Bookcase

There is no way that this bookcase's original price was $402.56. It's not even real wood; it's that "pressed board" thing. Sometimes on amazon you really do find impossible-to-believe deals, but in this case, you get what you pay for. The item's value is misrepresented.

It took me 4 1/2 hours to assemble it. I am a single woman who has assembled only a bench -- which required only an allen wrench (provided!) -- and a console table. I have no tools other than a four-way screwdriver. I think that it could be assembled in about 80 or 90 or 100 minutes by a man who has assembled furniture before and who has a decent tool collection. Assembly instructions, although in diagrams only, are fairly clear.

Now that it is assembled and in place, I will say that it looks nice enough. For a graduate student's apartment. I have yet to unpack my boxes full of books and test the strength of the shelves, though. I think and I hope that they will prove sturdy enough.

In truth, I enjoyed spending the 4 1/2 hours putting this thing together, because I learned that I can do it! I can assemble furniture by myself.

Finally, there were no items missing. Everything that was supposed to be included was included. And again, I did it with nothing but a 4-way screwdriver.
